For the last three years, Professor Sanderson has been translating and expounding the Tantrāloka in a lecture series for an audience that is presumed to know no Sanskrit. We are now able to offer his lectures to a larger audience via livestream.
In the prior series of lectures, Professor Sanderson reached verse 84 of the fourth book of the work. The subject of this book is the route to self-realization known in Sanskrit as śāktopāyah.
This series will cover at least two topics. The first is the question of what value, if any, the elements of Yogic meditation have for someone engaged in śāktopāyah. (4.84-114b). The second concerns the external rituals of worship (4.111c–122b).
The schedule for the lectures is:
Saturdays, June 22, 29, July 6, 13
2:00 - 3:30 pm PDT
